Peter Mercier is a musician, singer-songwriter, and recording artist from Salem, Massachusetts, USA. He has been writing songs and performing in various capacities all over the New England area for many years. Most recently, Peter has been pursuing a career as a solo artist.

A strong and passionate singer-songwriter, Peter's writing style is deeply personal and emotional. His songs are simple, raw, and expressive. His live performances consist mostly of just himself, and his acoustic guitar and harmonicas. Peter's songwriting style has been mostly influenced in his life by his love for Classic Rock, Blues, Folk, and Classic Country music. However, he also writes many original Christian songs, based in the Catholic tradition. Peter's greatest inspiration in life is undoubtedly his Catholic faith, and it comes through prominently in his work. He also has a deep interest in electronic and ambient, instrumental music, as well as Gregorian chant. His lyrical style is meant to be thought provoking and deep; and his songs' cover a wide array of subject matters. He loves to write about the natural beauty of the world - both its light, and its shade - and to focus on topical issues in society, and how they impact and shape our common human experience.
Peter's personal catalog of original songs is quite extensive, and he's been backlogging them for a while now. Since the COVID lock downs, he has been currently working on recording them all, and producing them well enough to be relased to the public...
